Are You a Caregiver?

You probably never thought this would happen to you. But now that your loved one has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, you find yourself in the caregiver role. While being a caregiver can be a rewarding experience, it can also be a difficult one. Your efforts help make the life of your loved one as comfortable as possible. Providing care for an aging loved one who is losing the ability to function mentally can be a tremendous challenge. It requires compassion and patience as you deal with an elder's repeated questions and changes in behavior.

It’s important that you take time off for yourself to stay mentally fit and ready to face the challenges. Olive Baptist Church offers an Alzheimer's/Dementia Caregiver Support Ministry for the people who face this situation. Our group meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 1:00pm in room 5104. We urge you to come to a meeting for your own good. Your attendance is kept confidential.
