Pick up a baby bottle in the foyer March 9 & 16 and take it home with you. Fill the bottle with change for a few weeks and return it to the church March 23 & 30. Your donation will be used to support. Safe Harbor, a non-profit organization committed to providing counsel, assistance and personal support to women and their families who are facing untimely or crisis pregnancies. They make no money from the services they provide. When you fill a bottle, you are helping them provide services at no charge to clients which include:
Free pregnancy tests
Limited OB ultrasounds*
Private, compassionate counseling by trained volunteer counselors
Complete factual information about fetal development, abortion procedures and health risks
Referrals to existing public and private assistance programs, including housing assistance
Medical care referrals
Adoption information and referrals to attorneys or licensed agencies
Prenatal and parenting information
Abstinence education and counseling
Post abortion recovery
* 20% of early pregnancies are not viable intrauterine pregnancies. Ultrasound can determine viability and placement of the fetus in the uterus. Ectopic pregnancies (those developing somewhere other than the uterus such as in the fallopian tube) can be life threatening to the woman. Safe Harbor's trained sonographers offer free limited ultrasounds for clients on a case by case basis. For more information, visit their website at 916safe.org.
