Preschool

Through Sunday School, Worship Care, AWANA Cubbies, and Preschool Choir, preschoolers have a number of opportunities to learn, play, and develop their God-given abilities while having their budding faith lovingly nurtured. We welcome you and your preschooler (age newborn through pre-k) to come and join the Olive family and our exciting ministry to children.

Program Descriptions

If your child is a Pre-Schooler, below are the various fun-filled ways we can serve you and your child.

Childcare for birth-4 year olds.

For your convenience, Olive Baptist provides childcare during all Worship Services and Bible Studies for children up to 4 years of age.

Sunday School

During Sunday School, preschoolers begin to learn Biblical foundations that are so important to their spiritual development. Divided by age, our babies and toddlers receive plenty of TLC while older preschoolers enjoy Bible stories, music, and hands-on activities.

Worship Care

Worship Care at Olive is a cooperative effort between parents that provides continued care and training during our morning services. Once every eight weeks, parents of preschoolers are scheduled to assist during their worship hour, reinforcing the Bible truths taught during Sunday School. In addition, Worship Care is provided by our trained staff during both the Sunday evening service and Wednesday discipleship classes.

AWANA Cubbies

Wednesday evenings at Olive are always exciting and the Preschool Ministry is no exception. During the school year, three and four year olds can be a part of our Cubbies program, where God's Word is planted in the hearts of our children in a fun, kid-friendly way.

W.A.M.M. (Worship Arts Music Ministry)

Three and four year olds look forward to W.A.M.M. on Sunday nights at 6:00 pm. While parents enjoy the corporate worship service, young children learn important music fundamentals and how to worship God through song. Periodically, each graded choir will sing during worship service or seasonal performance.

Mother's Day Out

To provide mothers with a break during the week, our preschool ministry is pleased to offer Mother's Day Out every Tuesday for a nominal charge. While at MDO, children spend the day with their friends and participate in a variety of age-appropriate activities. Registration is open to the church and community for preschoolers who are six weeks through Pre-K. For more information, you may pick up a brochure at the Preschool Welcome Desk.

Good Health Guidelines

In order to prevent the spread of illness among our preschoolers, we ask that you not bring your child to class if he or she has exhibited any of the following symptoms within the previous 24 hours:

  • Fever or sore throat
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Skin Infections (ringworm, impetigo, boils, etc.) or unexplained rash
  • Pink eye
  • Severe cold symptoms
  • Symptoms of childhood diseases such as measles, mumps, chicken pox, etc.

Security Information

In our preschool ministry, your child's safety and security is of the utmost importance. For this reason, we utilize several security measures. In our baby and toddler classes, each parent is given a numbered pager upon drop-off. Should we need to reach you, your assigned pager will vibrate. Older preschoolers and their parents are given a numbered, two-part security tag. If you are needed during service, your child's number will be displayed on the digital call-boards at the front sides of the Worship Center. Please note that the corresponding tag or pager must be presented by a parent or guardian (age 14 yrs. or older) before a teacher can release your child.
