Good Health Guidelines

In order to prevent the spread of illness among our preschoolers and to allow your child to recuperate comfortably at home, we request that you not bring your child to class if he or she has exhibited any of the following symptoms within the previous twenty-four hours:

  • Fever or sore throat
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Skin Infections (ringworm, impetigo, boils, etc.)
  • Any unexplained rash
  • Pink eye
  • Severe cold symptoms
  • Symptoms of childhood diseases such as measles, chicken pox, etc.

If your child has a chronic condition, allergy, or special need, please inform your child’s teacher so that we can best minister to him or her!

Safety and Security

At Olive, your child’s safety and security is of the utmost importance. For this reason, there are several measures that are utilized in the Preschool Ministry. First and foremost, all of our leaders are screened before being placed in a preschool classroom. In addition, we have established policies requiring at least two teachers in each room at all times. Each teacher is also trained by our Curriculum Assistant and provided with a booklet of Preschool Guidelines that were developed for the benefit and safety of both leader and child.

For your baby or toddler’s protection, each parent is given a numbered pager upon drop-off.  Should we need to reach you for any reason, your assigned pager will vibrate.

Older preschoolers and their parents are provided with a numbered, two-part security tag.  If you are needed during the service, your child’s number will be displayed on the digital call-boards at the front sides of the Worship Center.

Please note that the corresponding tag or pager must be presented by a parent or guardian (age 14 years or older) before a teacher can release your child.

Finally, if there are any custody arrangements involving your preschooler, please explain these to your child’s teacher as well as to the Director of Preschool.
