Minister of Education
Robert Gilliland has been married to his bride, Faith, since 1993. God has blessed them with two children, Zac and Katie. They have been members of Olive Baptist Church since 1993 and he has been serving as a minister on staff since 2003. His testimony of faith in Christ Jesus can be found at www.whativaluemost.com.
As head of the education team, Robert has two major objectives: 1) To supervise the education team. This consists of numerous full-time and part-time staff members, and hundreds of volunteers leading specific age group ministries within the church. 2) To implement church-wide educational/discipleship plans for small group Bible studies.

Minister of Education
Cindy is married with one daughter, Ashley. She has been a part of Olive for over 18 years, serving most of that time in her current position. Cindy works closely with the education team as well as church members who lead Connection Groups and discipleship groups. She enjoys her ministry as much now as the day she started, and is happy to be a part of the education ministry as they teach others about our Savior and how to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Director of New Member
Fred assists the education team as they reach out to prospective members and as they seek to get new members fully involved in small group Bible study and other ministries. As Director of New Member Assimilation, Fred leads the monthly class for new and prospective members, wherein he informs them about Olive’s history, mission, structure, and strategy and takes them on a tour of the facility. Fred is married to Mary Witty, who teaches special education at Ferry Pass Elementary, Olive’s partnership school.
Director of Preschool
A native of Pensacola, Shea has attended Olive since she was a member of the newborn nursery. Serving for years as a volunteer with preschoolers and children, Shea joined the Olive staff in 2004 as Coordinator of the Preschool Ministry.
Having been saved during her childhood, she is convinced that these early years are fertile ground for planting truths from God’s Word and preparing hearts for salvation. With a team of dedicated leaders, the Preschool Staff is committed to offering a safe, clean, and fun environment where God’s truth abounds and parents can feel comfortable bringing their little ones.
Preschool Administrative Assistant
A lifelong resident of Pensacola, Shannon grew up at Olive, and has served in the Preschool Ministry for more than ten years. Mother of two school-aged daughters, Amber and Hayley, Shannon assists Shea with administrative needs and is also responsible for screening and training our volunteers.
Married to Tom Savage, Director of Olive’s Orchestra and School of Performing Arts, Nancy has served for more than a year as Shea’s weekday assistant. Nancy coordinates our very popular Mothers’ Day Out program on Tuesdays as well as special event childcare throughout the week. Tom and Nancy have three daughters, Sydney, Alyssa, and Emily.
Worship Care Assistant
Tamika has been active at Olive and the Preschool Ministry since moving to Pensacola from California several years ago. With a readily apparent love for children, Tamika is certified in education and currently coordinates our Worship Care Ministry on Sunday mornings as well as Sunday and Wednesday evening childcare. Tamika and her husband, Anthony, have two sons, Sir and Lord.
Minister of Children
Dennis Dean is the Minister to Children, grades K5-5th grade. He has served on staff at Olive for over seven years. He is a graduate of Pensacola Junior College, the University of South Alabama, and has a Masters of Divinity degree from New Orleans Seminary.
Dennis is married to Becki, who sings with and leads the AWANA praise team on Wednesday nights. They have one little girl, named Bethany, who is a part of the children's department at Olive.
Minister of High School
John served for ten years as the youth pastor at First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He joined Olive's team March 25, 2013. His wife and partner in ministry is Bobbi. They have two children: Tyler (ninth grade) and Madi (seventh grade).
Minister of Middle School
Chris graduated from Tate High School and then continued his education at Pensacola Junior College and the University of West Florida, majoring in Business Administration. He also has a Master’s of Arts in Christian Education from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
God saved Chris at the age of 13 and called him into full-time Christian vocation as a junior in high school. Soon after high school, he became a youth pastor at a local church. Four years later, he began working at Olive as the Student Ministry Assistant and Team Sports Assistant. Then, after serving here for 1 year as the Team Sports Director, Chris and his wife, Kelly, moved to Argentina as she finished her Masters in Development Management and Policy in Buenos Aires. They lived in Argentina for six months before moving back to Pensacola for Chris to serve as the Minister of Middle School.
Director of Single Adults
Robert Lloyd first came to Olive in 1983 through the singles ministry. He has had the privilege of being involved with the singles ministry in some form ever since. He has taught a single adult class for 16 consecutive years. In August of 2006, he became Director of Single Adult Ministries as a part time staff person. He met his wife, Judy, in the singles ministry. They were both a part of the team that helped begin the Divorce Recovery program.

Mike grew up in Venice Beach California, where he met and married his wife Maria. After high school, Mike entered the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for 20yrs. In 1990, a pastor from a local Baptist church shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with Mike and his family, resulting in the entire family accepting Christ. Upon retiring from the Air Force, Mike and his family moved to Pensacola, where he pursued Bible training at Pensacola Christian College.
As the Minister to Married Adults and Olive’s Military Ministry, Mike hopes to reach and teach families and friends, and challenge them to develop a deeper, personal relationship with the Lord.
Director of Mature Adults Activities
Kim was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She has called Pensacola home since January 1974. She married David, a Pensacola native, in August 1985. Kim started her Olive career on December 14, 1988. She worked in the recreation ministry for 16 ½ years as the recreation assistant. During that time she graduated magna cum laude from UWF with a Bachelor of Science degree in Leisure Studies.
God moved Kim into the Mature Adult Ministry in August 2005, first as the administrative assistant, then as Interim Director, and finally as Director of Mature Adults Activities. Kim loves working with others as they touch the mature adult generation with the good news.
