COMMUNICATIONS

Production Assistant
Part-Time (20 Hours/Week)

Summary: The primary role of the Production Assistant, under the direction of the Production Manager, is to fulfill audio, video and lighting needs for church events, organize and track equipment, and help where needed within the Communications Department.

Big Picture
• Operate audio, video and lighting equipment at church events across all campuses
• Help inventory and maintain all technical equipment across all campuses
• Assist in team development and volunteer training
• Provide technical support for ministries within the Olive Baptist Church
• Assist with photography and videography needs
• Help organize files and other miscellaneous tasks as needed

Details
• Operate audio, video and lighting equipment at church events across all campuses
   • Prepare AVL equipment for special events and/or regular services
   • Operate AVL equipment as required for events 

• Help inventory and maintain all technical equipment across all campuses
   • Help keep an accurate inventory of equipment
   • Organize and label all loose equipment across all campuses
   • Identify broken gear and help send to manufacturer for repair 

• Assist in team development and volunteer training
   • As you become qualified on equipment, help teach others
   • Help organize volunteers and their schedules 

• Provide technical support for ministries within the Olive Baptist Church
   • Periodically meet with ministries to plan events or help with technical items
   • Help across all campuses with anything that fits within your expertise

• Assist with photography and videography needs
   • Periodically take pictures and videos of events
   • An event may not require technical support but Communications will need photos i.e. T-ball game, quilting club, etc.

• Help organize files and other miscellaneous tasks
   • Within the office area, there will be times we need assistance with all types of office work such as filing and computer work

• Basic experience in the areas of lighting, live audio, and video (preferred)

Graphic Design Intern
Volunteer

Summary: The primary role of the Graphic Design Intern, under the direction of the Communication Project Managers, is to fulfill visual design needs for the church and it’s various ministries, assist in preparation, printing and delivery of materials, update the church’s website with relevant information and images, and help where needed within the Communications Department. 

Big Picture 
• Creates visual designs for the church and ministries
• Assists in preparation, print, and delivery of materials
• Work with staff to keep the website relevant and up-to-date
• Helps the communication department staff with day-to-day duties as needed
• Assist with photography and videography needs 

Details 
• Create visual design consistent with the Olive Baptist Church and ministry branding
   • Create and edit graphics and images using Adobe Creative Suite programs, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects
   • Export and Print various sizes and styles of media including web images, motion graphics and print ready files
   • Communicating with supervisors and department staff to obtain project details, proof and finalize artwork
   • Creating and exporting various formats from an original artwork file

• Assist in preparation, print, and delivery of materials
   • Using the printing press and wide format printer to create physical media such as cards, banners, and booklets
   • Cutting, grommeting, folding, cleaning and other print shop activities to prepare physical media for delivery
   • Delivering physical and digital media to various departments
   • Updating the Olive web presence with updated files and information

• Update the church’s web presence with information and new graphics
   • Upload images and replace or create copy for content
   • Remove and or change out-of-date information when necessary
   • Check the website for consist, accurate and relevant content
   • Correct or report any major issues with functionality or content

• Assist the communications department staff with day-to-day activities
   • Creative meetings and brainstorming sessions
   • Content creation
   • Printing, Exporting, Delivery
   • Printshop Assistance
   • Receiving paper deliveries
   • Video production (setup, gaffing, camera operation, teardown, etc.)
   • Photography/Videography 

Qualifications

• The desire and drive to grow in the knowledge and practice of concepts, styles, standards, and various forms of creative media
• Creative digital or physical portfolio showing exceptional knowledge of visual design (composition, color theory, quality, etc.) and original solo work
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
• Knowledge and experience with animation and/or motion design and software is a plus but not a must (i.e. After Effects)
• Ability to work with clients towards a high-quality and exceptional end result while maintaining positive and healthy relationships
• Basic understanding of the critiquing process and the confidence and knowledge on how to build from and offer positive and constructive criticism

Summary: The primary role of the Information Technology intern, under the direction of the IT Manager, is to provide basic technical support the the staff and to assist with other larger technical projects.

Big Picture 
• Provide Technical support for the various software and services used by the church 
• Help inventory and maintain all technical equipment across all campuses 
• Assist in team development and volunteer training 
• Help organize files and other miscellaneous tasks as needed 
• Provide documentation for the network and server infrastructure 

Details
• Provide Technical support for the various software and services used by the church
   • Troubleshoot issues with programs and services
   • Provide support for general IT issues for the staff 

• Help inventory and maintain all technical equipment across all campuses 
   • Help keep an accurate inventory of equipment 
   • Organize and label all loose equipment across all campuses 
   • Identify broken gear and help send to manufacturer for repair 

• Assist in team development and volunteer training 
   • As you become qualified on equipment, help teach others 
   • Help organize volunteers and their schedules

• Help organize files and other miscellaneous tasks as needed
